Cops: Husband Who Stabbed, Shot Boxer, On The Run - News Story - WFTV Orlando ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- One of the world's greatest boxers was stabbed and shot by her husband, Orange County deputies said Wednesday. Eyewitnesses told WFTV that Christy Martin was trying to leave her husband when he attacked her in their home near Apopka. "My neighbor just told me that she was leaving and he just flipped," neighbor Trevor Williamson said. Christy Martin, 42, was driven to a hospital’s emergency room by a motorist she had flagged down near the Deer Lake Subdivision in Apopka, deputies said. Doctors said Martin had stab wounds to her upper torso and left leg, and had been shot. She's in the hospital with serious wounds and her husband and business partner is on the run, reportedly suicidal, deputies said.
